Police in New Zealand have arrested a man after he committed a bizarre theft. He managed to steal a diamond necklace from a jewelry store and immediately swallowed it. According to local media, police were called to Partridge Jewellers in central Auckland last Friday afternoon. The thief, a 32-year-old man, was arrested inside the store just minutes after the incident. He was later medically examined and remains in custody. Police confirmed that the stolen Fabergé egg locket is valued at NZ$33,585 (around $19,300 USD) and has not yet been recovered. The owner of the store stated that the stolen egg, which the thief swallowed, is set with 60 white diamonds and 15 sapphires and opens to reveal a small octopus made of 18-carat gold.
