Peter Montgomerie, who worked in advertising, was accustomed to long working days. He believed that preparation allowed him the opportunity to unwind with family and relax before sometimes returning to work in the evening. "When I left at six in the evening, people often asked me: did you work all afternoon?" - Montgomerie recounts. The flexibility of the schedule allowed him to drive home to Wellington, New Zealand, to prepare his favorite dishes, such as burritos or Thai fish cakes in coconut sauce.
However, in his current role as the head of a creative group at the cloud accounting platform Zero, Montgomerie can prepare dinner for his wife and children almost every evening.
"At the end of the working day, I can close my laptop and head to the kitchen," he notes.
