The airport in New Zealand has established a new rule: the length of regular hugs is now limited to three minutes. This decision has sparked various reactions on social media and highlighted the need for such limitations.
While some users supported the new rule, others expressed that it is important not to delay the queue, while others argued that hugs should be encouraged, not restricted. However, the airport's general director explained that this limitation is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted flow of movement in one of the busiest areas of the airport.
"Don't worry - just 20 seconds of hugging is enough to release oxytocin and serotonin, hormones that contribute to improving well-being. Thus, three minutes in total is enough to socialize and uplift one’s state," explained the head of the airport. For those wishing to extend their hugs, it is suggested to use the lounge, where the first 15 minutes are free.
Debates about the new rule have erupted online, however, it is undeniable that now the airport is becoming a place where a certain order is maintained.
